It is our goal to enhance the well-being of older adults. We understands the stress and worry family members are facing in caring for their loved ones. We are dedicated to providing in-home care that will enriches and support the lives of our clients. 

Our Business

Penchant Home Care Services, Inc. opened its doors in 2006. My decision to start this company aroused when the concern of providing care to my 66 year old mother  who suffered a knee injury  before evacuating from New Orleans during Hurricane Katrina in 2005, she also had other medical concerns as well.  

My mother had to have knee surgery, physical therapy and numerous doctor visits.  My husband and I both worked full time jobs with 4 kids! Needless to say we did not planned for this, and therefore we had to make many changes in our lives. 

Who, what, when, where and how were obvious questions that we really didn't have the answers too!  Who would miss work this week? What will our boss say? When is the next physical therapy or doctor's visit? Where will we find help? And how much will it cost?  After months of trying to be a super star I asked myself "what quality of life can I provide to my family, my mother and my present job if I am not giving 100% to it"?  I decided that I would start a company that would offer a quality service to the elderly and their families, at an affordable price. 

I understand that everyone's story is not quite like mine; however, we all face similar situations in which the lives of our loved ones may become a great concern.  We all can not make the decision I chose, therefore I wanted to provide a service that will benefit the growing needs within the elderly community and their families.  

I chose the name "Penchant" because it means a Strong liking!  To provide this type of care to people is not just a decision to quit a job, it's a desire to provide quality care with compassion, honesty, tenderness, faithfulness and devotion.  I invite you to trust the name "Penchant Companion Care Services, LLC".

We do not hire just anyone, we only hire the best!

Our caregivers are well-groomed, caring, compassionate, committed, dependable and honest. Our caregivers are hired only after a strenuous selection process that includes reference checks, background checks, multiple interviews, and they receive ongoing training & coaching.

We take care of the boring paperwork, another advantage is that our caregivers are our employees.

We—not you—are responsible for all of the employee taxes, worker’s compensation and professional and general liability insurance.
